IP65 Wall-Mounted Outdoor Display – Portrait
A portrait-format outdoor wall display with an IP65 rating and full-lamination bonding. Vertical orientation suits columns, piers and narrow facade panels where a landscape screen would not fit, and full lamination keeps the display readable when sunlight falls directly on the glass. Intended for permanent street-facing installation rather than temporary outdoor events.

Overview
Portrait is the natural format for the vertical surfaces of a building. Columns, piers, lift cores and the narrow strips between windows are all taller than they are wide, and a landscape screen either will not fit or wastes the panel with letterboxing. This IP65 wall-mounted outdoor display is built in portrait orientation for exactly those surfaces.
Two construction details matter for exterior work. The first is full lamination: the display is bonded to its cover glass across the whole surface rather than only at the edges, which is what stops sunlight from scattering inside the gap and washing the image out. The second is the IP65 rating, which covers protection against dust ingress and water jets for a permanently installed outdoor unit.
Configuration and Options
Because the screen is wall-mounted, the fixing detail is the first thing to confirm: substrate type, height above ground and access for maintenance all shape the bracket design. Send photographs of the wall and a dimensioned sketch, and we will confirm the portrait proportion that fits the surface. Content is supplied by your own team, and the orientation means artwork must be built vertically rather than rotated from a landscape layout.
Preparing a Facade Fixing
Exterior wall mounting is decided by the substrate. Render, brick, cladding, structural concrete and glazed curtain walling each need a different bracket and fixing method, and one of them will not accept a heavy display at all without additional support. Photograph the wall from two metres back and from the side, note what the surface is made of, and confirm where cabling can enter the building. Service access matters too: leave enough clearance to reach the rear connections without removing the screen from the wall. Send those details before ordering.
FAQ
Can a portrait screen be mounted on any wall?
The substrate must carry the weight and accept the bracket. Send photographs and dimensions of the wall and we will confirm the mounting approach before quoting.
Why does full lamination matter outdoors?
Bonding the display to the cover glass across its whole area removes the internal air gap where sunlight scatters, which is the main reason un-laminated outdoor screens look washed out in direct sun.
Is IP65 enough for a coastal site?
IP65 covers dust and water jets, which suits most exterior walls. For sites with salt spray or heavy driven rain, tell us and we will discuss the more heavily sealed range instead.
